FotoDocHow to reduce an image to under 200 KB (or another limit)
- Choose the image (you can choose several).
- Select the maximum size: 50 KB, 100 KB, 200 KB, 500 KB, 1 MB, or another value.
- Download the reduced file.
The tool looks for the best quality that still fits the limit. It only reduces the image's dimensions when compression alone is not enough.

- Photos and scans for government portals, universities and job applications.
- Email attachments that are going over the limit.
- Profile photos with a size limit.
Tips
Text documents (scans) compress well as JPG down to around 200 KB without losing legibility. Photos of people hold up well at 100 KB. Below 50 KB the image starts to look visibly degraded.

Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Everything is done in your browser.
Can I reduce several files at once?
Yes. Choose several images and download them one by one or all at once.
Why did the image get smaller in dimensions too?
When lowering quality alone does not reach the limit, we also shrink the dimensions, gradually, until it fits.
Does this work with PDF?
Not yet. This tool works with images (JPG, PNG, WEBP).
What about HEIC files from an iPhone?
Browsers do not open HEIC reliably. On iPhone, go to Settings › Camera › Formats and choose “Most Compatible” to take photos as JPG.
